Featured Project: Wilson Aquatic Center

Magnolia Companies to provide plumbing services for LEED project

Magnolia was recently awarded the plumbing and utility contract for the new Wilson Aquatic Center to be located on the campus of Wilson High School in Washington, DC. The 54,000 SF state-of-the-art facility will include a 50 meter competition pool, wellness/leisure pool, adult whirlpool, seating for 475 spectators, locker rooms, administration area, meeting room and storage areas.

The environmental goals are one of the most important components of the project. The facility features construction recycling, green interior design, energy efficient mechanical and electrical systems and water conservation fixtures. The project will seek Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for New Construction (LEED-NC) Silver certification. The $22.5 million facility is expected to be completed in Summer 2009. The facility was designed by Hughes Group Architects. SIGAL Construction is the general contractor
