Introducing The New Hybrid Gas Water Heater From American
The American residential gas hybrid water heater represents the latest in cutting-edge technology. It combines the best attributes of conventional and tankless technologies to provide the best of both worlds.
“Hybrid” is a whole new category in water heating
Conventional water heaters perform will with simultaneous demands because of their ability to store hot water. However, at times they run out of hot water during continuous long draws because of the lower BTU input.
Tankless technology performs well with long draws at steady flow rates. However, due to the lack of storage, these water heaters struggle with simultaneous demand from multiple fixtures and appliances.
Enter the American Hybrid Gas Water Heater, combining the advantages of both technologies.
Consider the benefits of going “hybrid”
- Patented circulation system delivers 90% thermal efficiency – saving money on operating cost
- Patented water flow circulation systems provides the performance of a tankless unit with extremely quick recovery
- Internal storage easily handles peak demand – with no minimum flow rate and no “cold water sandwich”
- Smaller than a conventional 50-gallon gas water heater, but with twice the hot water delivery – 189-gallon first hour delivery
- Delivers hot water faster than tankless technology
- Sophisticated electronics with multiple lifestyle modes
- Low installation cost – ½” gas connection (common in most homes today), hot and cold water connections similar to conventional models, and vents in inexpensive PVC
- Qualifies for 2010 federal tax credit up to $1,500
How the Hybrid works
The American Hybrid Gas model combines a tankless unit with a small buffer tank. It is a patented heat transfer process that utilizes a secondary heat exchanger to capture the heated flue gas from the tankless unit and routes it back through a buffer tank to extract additional heat. The end result is a more energy efficient and superior performing water heater.
